The only automatic cat box that flushes waste away and, like a cat, washes itself clean.
CatGenie is unlike all cat litter boxes.
It does more than any automatic litter boxes. The CatGenie acts like a cat box, works like a toilet, and cleans like a modern washing appliance.
1) CatGenie requires a one-time, simple do-it-yourself hook up to cold water and an electric outlet.
2) CatGenie uses litter-like Washable Granules to satisfy kitty’s need to dig and cover.
3) When kitty goes, the liquid drains away from the Granules so only the waste gets flushed.
4) When cleaning starts, the GenieHand scoops out the solid waste, which gets liquefied for safe, easy removal.
I didn't take any pictures with me unboxing the boxes due to the camera not working, but it arrived in 2 boxes which were delivered at the same time. There was a note saying that they might not show up at the same time (Different delivery times). I was fortunate to have both boxes delivered at the same time. The first big box was the CatGenie itself. The second box was the “Tuxedo Package” which I will elaborate on those contents later on. All of the items were safely packaged from harm.
CatGenie was broken down safely packaged in Styrofoam, Owner’s Manual, Easy Quick setup, acclimating your cat to use the CatGenie, two “T” connectors which allows you to connect to your toilet, or to your washer water line.
The second box contains the “Tuxedo Package”, which housed the dome, wall height extender, Box of granules to replenish, and 2 extra cleaning cartridges.
The Owner’s Manual is very through in operating the CatGenie, setting it up, and navigating through all of the functions as well as a nice troubleshooting section where you can actually run through all of the functions to make sure they are operating correctly with tech support.
Cat activation:
After your cat does his/her business, your CatGenie will wait 10 minutes before starting the cleaning cycle. In a multi-cat household, that gives the next cat time to come in. It then resets and waits another 10 minutes, to allow another cat to use it.
SaniSolution Level Indicator:
In the new Control Panel, LEDs show you how much SaniSolution remains in the Cartridge. The LEDs also show the error number. New, softer sounding beeps have shorter warning times so as not to annoy you and/or your cat(s).
Save the Washable Granules:
The CatGenie 120 has a new Brim & Base. Both reengineered to greatly reduce Granule loss. No more Granules in the gears. This provides a smoother operation.
Easier Maintenance:
Instead of taking CatGenie apart for maintenance, with the 120, you just slip in the new Machine Maintenance Cartridge and run it a few times a year. In the 120, you get direct access to the Water Sensor so no need to remove the Brim to clean it. The GenieScrubber keeps the 120 Base bottom clean and germ free.
Genie Arm & Hand now has an unbreakable connection. The weak link has been eliminated so the GenieHand can do its job without a break. And the new Hand has teeth to grab and hold the solids. A stronger motor power the Turbo Hopper, which helps it perform even better. A sharper Hair Cutter eliminates hairballs fast and easy. And the Impeller Shaft was modified to split hairs even finer.
• CatGenie is 21 inches high including SaniSolution Cartridge
• The cat area (Bowl) is 19 inches across
• The back of CatGenie narrows to 16 inches across
• CatGenie is 24 inches from front to back, including hoses
• CatGenie has the same footprint as most large litter boxes.
CatGenie needs a
• hook up to cold water
• toilet or laundry drain pipe to accept waste
• 120 volt ac electrical outlet
•CatGenie 120, World's only Self-Flushing, Self-Washing Cat Box.
•GenieDome with SideWalls for cats who prefer total privacy.
•3 SaniSolution Cartridges good for 5-6 months for 2 cats.
•2 Boxes of Washable Granules, one box to fill and one to replenish.
•1 Maintenance Cartridge good for 3 washings.
•2 T-Adapters for either an laundry or bathroom setup.
•3 Manuals, Simple Set Up, Operations, and Cat Acclimation.
Maintaining the CatGenie is very easy. One can either use the Maintenance cartridge, or take it apart and clean a few parts. I personally take it all apart and clean it with hot water in the tub every month. The reason I perform this is due to our long-haired cat. He really sheds and even though it does cut some hair, some is still left wrapped around the shaft. It’s easy to remove the hair and wash out the parts. It takes a total of 15 minutes. If you choose to use the Maintenance Cartridge, you simply swap out cartridges out and press the Start button. After the cycle is done, you easily swap back to the other cartridge.

The CatGenie is expensive up front, but if you get over that steep price, you will be very glad with your purchase. I find with the Tuxedo Package that there are less granules thrown all over the place when my cats leave. It will save you time and money if you do the math. You don’t have to purchase heavy cat litter, fill the cat box while you ingest the fine dust, clean the dirty litter box/container, and have to handle the dirty mess. CatGenie is very easy to maintain, and change the cartridges. Right now, CatGenie offers a Money-Back Guarantee for 90 Days.

Well, I found out some inportant information you need to know..
Submitted by fraggboy on Thu, 01/27/2011 - 12:08am.I have been researching a way to re-use the cartridges. There is a person who has created a device that plugs into the Catgenie where the reader would plug in to read the cartridge tricking the CatGenie so you can re-use your cartridge and the solution that you like to use/make.
You can read up on the CartridgeGenius here: http://www.litterbox-central.com/litter-box/catgenie/topic3601.html I was chatting with the person who created it, and I was lucky enough to be a part of his beta team of the CartridgeGenius. I should get it here in a few days and install it.
