Roomba 560
I just purchased my 560 today from LNT. I noticed the Home Base is white. The 560 Home Base I reviewed is black. Just curious as to what color is your home base that came with your Roomba?
Note Model and color. Is there a difference, other than color? Maybe updated? Since the 530 is white, do they come with white Home Bases? Maybe I got a "Friday Unit". Mixed up?

Coupon
Well I can see that the coupon begging thing probably is why this happened to you.
They gave you the one defective one they got who turned out to be albino.
Seriously, if you look on IRobot, they sell or are planning to sell different snap on covers for the 5xx series so I imagine we will be seeing eventually all different sorts of combinations.

I received a white 535 from HSN and the Home Base is white, I bought a black 550 from Costco and the home base is black, I have been running them together for the last 3 days and today I came home the black roomba was on the white base and the white roomba was on the black one. It took me a minute to figure out what was different

Hahaha!! Way too funny SnoodMaster!!
Yea, I don't really think it's that big of a deal. Just curious. I'm sure there is no difference, except for the color. And, like fancyfreewv said, they are coming out with different colored 'Skins' so you can change your Roomba's color.

JUST GOT A NEW 560 from LNT!
$280 after the 20% rebate. I can't believe how amazing this new robot is! It is quieter, lasts WAY longer, and is so much smarter (slows down when it comes to walls/obstacles). The only thing I am considering is buying from Hammacher and Schlemmer because of their warrantee.
If you buy from them and your battery craps out after a year or two can you still get a replacement? Because of the lifetime guarantee?

Furby ll 560 is coming today. I can't wait. i bought it the evening it came out with the 20% coupon from Irobot. Maybe the last one they accepted! It shipped on Sept 2 and is arriving today on Sept6.
I turned in my new 4290 pet with a broken socket where the main brush square end slips in.
I am very concerned about the hair and brush situation I read about as I have 4 inside cats.
Not having seen it ,I am gussing that the design of the brush is funnelling the hair to the ends of the brush and building up there. I also understand the brush is softer than the pet brush.
Irobot does not offer Pet brushes alone ,only in a cleaning kit with a bunch more stuff. If the pet brush fits, maybe someone would like to share the extras that will not go in the new 560.
Just rambling as I am excited for him to get here.

I am concerned with the pet situation as well as I have 3 active shelties with long hair running in and out of the doggie door all day!
I have my disco converted with the Pet kit and I've been very happy with that brush as well as the cleaning tool that came with it. I see they have a yellow version of this with the 5xx series. Both that brush and the rubber one tend to build up hair at the ends that I clean after each run so hope this isn't any worse.
My thought is that maybe with the stronger vacuum part, it's not that necessary to have a stiff brush too. They seem to want to funnel the hair into the bin and cut it off.
Please let us know what your experience is with this as I have to wait until the 10 or 11th for mine to arrive from HSN.

Guys, if you have the pet upgrade kit, you can put them in the 5xx series Roomba's. That's what I am doing, and it works Great!!
Cherokeeloves, LNT doesn't have it on their website. I called my local LNT stores, and asked if they received them in.

Re: Pet Kit
WONDERFUL NEWS !
From the pictures I saw, the new brushes are curved so I didn't think it would work.
Thanks!

I am wondering if there is a LNT store in my area. Since kokomo is a small town

Furby ll made his maiden voyage. He missed a few crumbs but not near as much as I had missed him(returned a new Pet 4290)
He ran for 1 hr and 45 minutes but we confused him and moved the lighthouses to let him into the sunroom and kitchen.
He ran out of juice before getting back to the dock but we had asked an awful lot of a single run.
There was not as much fur/trash in the bin as the Pet but the bin is much larger. But oh man, the filter was stuffed. So nice not to have the 'extra'bin above the intended one as the 4290 had.
I had to cut the cat fur off of the bearings and the rubber beater had more than the brush.
He made it under all the furniture which was great because he is a little taller.
Today we are very happy with Furby ll and we'll see what he picks up tomorrow.
My husband is a cabinet maker and we are going to redo this kitchen in our new old house. I am very interested in a Roomba garage.
We had a catbox garage in our other house!

OK, I have just received the replacement Roomba 560. This one does come with a BLACK dock station. My original 560 is dated 06/29/2007 and the new one is 07/28/2007, almost a month difference. iRobot probably caught a bug in the original batch and solved it. Running the 16 hr. charge, will report later on the replacement's first run.

Ok THX, the 560 I reviewed had a black dock, with a date only on the bottom. My 560 has a white dock, with an actual serial #.
Hmm..
Hmm..

Hello ~ I am new to this forum and to roomba. I just received my first roomba yesterday (560). The directions clearly state that it should be charged for 16 hours for the first charge and that this initial charging would show a quick flashing on the light on top. My roomba was just pulsing which is what is supposed to happen for a normal charge (not startup). It has been a lot less than 16 hours and the light is not flashing and green indicating that the battery is charged. Do you think that I can go ahead and try it or should I still wait the 16 hours??? I'm excited to see what this little bugger can do! javascript:emoticon(':D')
