Based on this new development, I would buy Roomba's from BBB instead of LNT.

thanks for the update. i saw that this a.m. too.
otoh, if they shut down a local store, there might be "fire sale" roombas?
i also read that lillian vernon, the children's place, and sharper image are all in bankruptcy proceedings. sharper image stopped accepting their gift cards.

You're worried about something minor like being stuck with a unreturnable problem Roomba. iRobot had to take a $1.8 million write off on it's accounts receivable from LNT. Now that's a problem :)

It's about one fifth of the total number of stores closing. We may or may not see price reductions for the stores that close. Some of them may be in areas with multiple stores which would allow them to transfer stock to the remaining stores that don't close.

Yeah, and THAT knocked a chunk off my personal wealth. The stock took a real beating last week. :(

According to a news release from yesterday, none of the Canadian stores are closing, as they apparently are big money-makers.
