does mine have it? do i need it?

please point out. because i am such an idiot and don't know how to use the search feature. or maybe i don't want to go thru hundreds of post to maybe find the info. if i would have the time to do that i wouldn't need a roomba either, because i would have time to vacuum to.

thanks

btw while the search feature is great it really make chatrooms dead and info outdated...

This isn't to be rude or anything but all you would have had to do is scroll through at least the first page and you could find a post (from another person who didn't use the search feature) called What is Osmo.
You didn't really search at all.
Search feature is located on the top of the page the Icon is the Mag. glass.

I personally feel that the search feature does not make a group boreing but can actually help a room out.

For example searching for Osmo. A lot of people just post that it fixes CD problems but don't post exactly what it does. Does it do anything else, improve battery life???
A search feature can also help liven up a room by rasing more questions such as those.

Thanks, and please keep in mind that none of this was said to be rude or anything of that nature.

do i need it ? (if there is not a problem right now)

but i give up at this point, so far i have not gotten very much usefull info in this chatroom so far... unfortunatly

That thread has a lot of info. What else are you looking for?

No, you don't have it, the Roomba doesn't comes with OSMO installed out of the box. OSMO is for fixing the Circle of death. It disables a sensor that commonly becomes clogged, which isn't always preferable if you aren't having any problems.

It also comes with the 2.1 firmware tweaks and updates. You MIGHT have the 2.1 firwmare updates, depending on when your Roomba was manufactured. All Schedulers have the 2.1 updates, and I think all Discovery and Discovery SE models manufactured after june 2005 have it also.

If you absolutely insist on having the latest updates, and you don't already have a Roomba scheduler, you can always buy or borrow the Scheduler Upgrade Kit from someone. It comes with an adapter that upgrades any new model Roomba, from the red on up, to the latest 2.1 firmware plus it gives you the ability to program the roomba to run on it's own. It's pretty cool because it can upgrade an unlimited number of roombas and once you program it you don't need the remote anymore.

It does the software upgrade, but you will still not have the hardware upgrade and that makes a BIG difference...better brushes and semi-sealed wheelwells. Also, OSMO doesn't disable the sensors, it just lessens their sensitivity.

The Scheduler kit can upgrade unlimited numbers of Roomba's but I have discovered that OSMO can only upgrade 3 Roomba's.

Osmo is not an essential update unless you are haveing problems with Roomba. iRobot won't even give it to you unless you tell them you have the COD.
